The Night Shift

This one took forever. Almost 4 months. I loved the model, I loved her pose, but figuring out where and what and how I wanted to use it took multiple trial and errors. However after much much MUCH hemming and hawing ....here she is.

Why do I tend to put subjects into rooms you ask? (cause it seems I tend to do that a lot) I think for me it's the mystery of what goes on behind closed doors at the times there is no one around to see. Also, I love building the world around them. But as you can see I just can't use one or two elements in my art (though I wish to hell i could cause then it would go a LOT faster). For me, the story is all in the details. Why is the main person doing what they're doing? What sort of person are they that you can tell from the details? Are they good, bad, kickass?

My ultimate goal? For anyone looking at my art to lean in and see the details and then make up their own story. I can tell you what I was thinking but I want YOU to tell me what you're thinking when you see it!

Another thing you may have noticed is that I don't paint them like a lot of artists do. I do touch up, trust me I do that, but I don't paint over the originals. I tend to like it to be a bit more realistic and almost like you could touch the person I've manipped. All I can do is hope it works for people and keep doing what I'm doing.
